Welcome to our extensive range of Medwakh Pipes, sometimes spelt Midwakh! Medwakh Pipes usually have classic or more contemporary designs, different materials, colours and sizes which have been selected by the team here at Enjoy Dokha for our discerning customers in the UK.
We have Medwakh (Midwakh) pipes made from a variety of materials such as wood, bone and metal and utilising external and internal filters. There is a huge range of styles to suit every taste
Medwakh pipes have been in existence since the 1500’s and are exclusively used for smoking tender leaf Arabic tobacco called Dokha. The pipes are distinctive because of the small bowl which holds just a pinch or two of Dokha tobacco thereby allowing you to smoke just three or four puffs at a time. That’s great for busy people on the go who don’t have the time to spend smoking for long periods of time.
The vast majority of our pipes are handmade. This allows for creativity during the manufacturing process. It is worth noting that in any particular pipe design there can be minor differences between individual pipes because of the individual nature of this handicraft.
Starting from the top, these pipes usually have an enlarged heel past the bowl to hold them steady while lighting. This is attached to a small bowl, sized for a single hit, which is linked to the shaft – usually 5 to 7 inches (12 to 17cm). Connected to the shaft is the stem, or mouthpiece, which usually houses a filter.
When choosing the correct Medwakh Pipe for you, we recommend you take the following factors into consideration:
- Shaft Length
- Bowl Size
